Looking back across the fires to the Man who stood befor Me His 6' 3" Height giving Him 5" over My own...knowing well this gave Him the advantage of reach but perhaps could find away to exploit this adavantage of His. He out weighed Me by at least 40 pounds but this mattered not. I wore no helmet as I did not see this coming. Tight in My right hand I held the sword I would I was to fight with. It had a length of 32 " ....and was double edged...each edge razor sharp and free from nicks...well honed and oiled. The leather grip felt good in My hands.I stood left foot out in front of Me..weight slightly shifted to back foot...left hand held low in front of Me...the sword in My right arm Held straight up...Right arm slightly bent at elbow. The fire gleaming off the edges of the blade...I stood ready to strike.

(06/04/09 - 12:26:38 ) constance's Vana'she Haakon Krondar Warrior Kassar-DRC Owner of constance : securing the shield to My left arm making sure it was tight as in true battle I would wish it a part of Me.
(06/04/09 - 12:28:53 ) constance's Vana'she Haakon Krondar Warrior Kassar-DRC Owner of constance : I placed upon My head the scarlet red helmet I would one day wear first in practice spar, then one day in real battle. Its weight felt heavy upon My head I could feel and hear the chains that dangled from it to protect My neck.
(06/04/09 - 12:30:00 ) constance's Vana'she Haakon Krondar Warrior Kassar-DRC Owner of constance : Holding the sword firm in My right hand II swung the sword from My lower left to the upper right to get a feel for the blade.

(06/04/09 - 12:36:03 ) constance's Vana'she Haakon Krondar Warrior Kassar-DRC Owner of constance says to Haakon KrondarWar: Standing on the grasses of the plains under the hot mid day sun, My enemy stood a good ten paces from Me. On My left arm I wore My scarlet lacquered leather shield secured tight. The Initial H.K. across the top Kassar across the bottom. I held it so it would protect My body from top of My shoulder down to just above My waist as I stood legs shoulder width apart. My scarlet y shaped helmet resting upon My head chains that dangled to protect My neck. In My right hand I bore the sword that I had killed many an enemy with, razor sharp on both edges I could feel the balance of the 3" wide 32" long blade as I held it below My shield right arm sightly bent at the elbow so the blade was held horizontal across My body. The leather wrapped hilt felt good in My hand as I gripped it tight near the 10.5" guard. It is spoken that every warrior is an Ubar in the circle of his steel, if this man dared to step in My circle He would only find death.

I stood about twenty paces from My enemy along the rivers edge with the banks at My right. I wore the My y shaped helmet of scarlet. In My right hand I held a 22" gladius its double edges sharp and ready to cleave and thrust, narrow at the hilt and reaching a width of 4" before it narrows to the tip. The handle made of polished kalana wood with an oval shaped guard. On My left arm I wore My scarlet round shield of lacquered leather bearing the initials H.K. on the top and Kassar on the bottom. I had it fashioned tight to Me and it felt as if it was a part of My own flesh. Strapped to each calf was a 12" quiva knife handles of black horn that ended just below My knees for easy reach in combat or while riding My kaiila. My blade was held under My shield horizontal across My body as this was the best attack and defense position.

(06/14/09 - 01:10:13 ) Haakon Krondar Warrior Kassar Camp, DRC : standing at the ready I hold My lance in My right arm hand at waist level retaining thong wrapped tightly around hand right elbow slightly bent outward forming over a 90 degree angle...My black lacquered shield held at about shoulder height protecting Me down to just below My waist.. I wore a quiva strapped to each calf for easy retrieval in combat on foot or from the mount of My kailla. to My left hip I wore a gladius 32' long black horned handle....the blade was narrow at the handle and widened to 3" before it tapered back down to a point. I stared back at My challenger but not into His eyes as story tellers would have you believe but the opponent as a whole waiting for Him to strike or telegraph his movements to Me.

(06/21/09 - 22:44:54 ) Haakon Krondar Warrior Kassar Camp, DRC : leaving My wagon I walk to a clearing in near the fires far enough away from camp to be alone but still close enough to have the light of the fires...
(06/21/09 - 22:48:41 ) Haakon Krondar Warrior Kassar Camp, DRC : I practice swinging the sword from side to side...cross strikes...defensive positions over and over feeling the weight of it in My hand....its balance point...how it can cut the air with little resistance save its own weight. It felt good in My hands...I practiced drawing it out of the scabbard over and over and over long into the night as I was alone..till withdrawing it seemed as natural as walking....
(06/21/09 - 22:55:00 ) Haakon Krondar Warrior Kassar Camp, DRC : For five nights I had traveled the plains following My quarry. remaining always behind far enough for Him to not ever be sure I was on His trail. He had killed a member of camp and I was going to revenge the death of My Brother. On the fifth night, feeling comfortable He had eluded pursuers and well with in His own territory He allowed Himself a fire this night. I crept into the fire light undetected by Him. My 32 inch gladius in My hand. No shield had I carried as I tracked this Man. A quiva strapped to each calve of My legs which I always wore upon Me. I looked across the fires to Mine enemy and He back at Me. He was not surprised to find Me there.
