: Having finished My sword work I slip the steel back into its scabbard with ease...I feel at ease now with My steel.

Haakon Krondar
Warrior
Kassar Camp, DRC
: taking a small leathered target I set it up at about 20 paces hanging of My lance placed into the ground....I have a boy of the camp standing near by and off to side of target where he is safe from harm.

Haakon Krondar
Warrior
Kassar Camp, DRC
: lining up relaxed I bend slightly in fast fluid motion and throw the quiva to the target. catching its side spinning it. Perhaps it could have been a wound strike? I knew in My heart it was not good enough. I had the boy remove the quiva and I know repeated the task with My left side. I missed the target as I am right handed...but determined to learn to throw the weapon both ways. A warrior must leave no weakness in Himself to be exploited.

: I have the boy retrieve My quivas and run them back to Me....I send Him to My wagon to fetch the rest of the set of quivas. a set being seven in total usually kept on the kaiila but I choose to where two of the set at the ready and on Me at all ti mes.

: when the boy returns I set him back up near the target I heat two of them at My calves and leave the others to the side...I practice over and over and over again retrieving My weapons and throwing them with each hand in turn. My right hand quickly becomes proficient. The trick really being is the distance you are from target. To throw a knife or quiva...half the skill is knowing your distance to close or too far your handle with hit target instead of blade end...or the quiva will hit flat against the intended target. The knowledge has advantage. You may not wish to kill with a quiva but a good solid hit with handle end can stun hurt and maim as well.

: I continue to practice long into the night...quickly the skill comes to Me on right hand....but knowing more practice is needed...the left lags behind by a long shot but this I do not worry about I will get there it takes time and patience and practice.
